In response to the controversy that SFist wrote about earlier this week regarding a security guard who told a lesbian couple that they couldn’t hold hands while viewing the current Seeing Gertrude Stein exhibit, the museum has swiftly and brilliantly organized a Hand Holding Day, which will take place this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will coincide with the previously scheduled LGBT Family Morning of Stein, which is happening from 9 a.m. to Noon and consists of kid-focused art-making activities, followed by a great line-up of performances by the SF Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band, the Voices Lesbian Choral Ensemble, and Lesbian/Gay Chorus of San Francisco.
